12. Age Recommendations
12.1. Radio Controlled modelling is a great hobby that can be enjoyed by all ages however please remember that the remote controlled models we sell are hobby products not toys, many are high performance machines and we advise adult supervision for children under the age of 14 years old.
12.2. It is the responsibility of the user to ensure the safety of people and property around them when using a radio controlled mode, Mini Moto, Quad bike or Scooter and when used in a public place adult supervision should be provided.
12.3. Nitro models require some manual dexterity and physical strength to start which some younger users may require assistance with.
12.4. The Mini Moto, Quad Bikes and Scooters have individual age recommendations, adult supervision is recommended for younger children and the use of the correct safety equipment is essential.
13. Pre Testing
13.1. The Radio Controlled models, Bikes and Scooters we sell are hobby products, to operate them successfully the user needs to either have some experience or be prepared to familiarise themselves with the necessary background information before using them. This information is readily available on the internet or by contacting us on sales@rideontoys4kids.com
13.2. All of the items we sell require maintenance and adjustment to keep them working properly and to prevent damage to the components.
13.3. Please remember that all items should be checked by the user prior to every use ensuring that everything is tightened and adjusted as it should be and batteries are secure. Also for fuel powered items it is essential to check for any fuel leaks each time the item is filled with fuel and do not use any item that shows any sign of a fuel leak. Where appropriate the user should perform a full radio check including a range check before switching a model on or starting an engine. If the item suffers a bump you should check that nothing has been knocked out of adjustment.
13.4. If you have a problem with your radio equipment or if there is any damage to the aerials do not attempt to use the model until the problem has been resolved, please contact us for advice.
13.5. If you have no experience with the model or item you have purchased you will need to do some research e.g. if you have purchased a Nitro model then as well as reading all the information in the product manual (which is aimed at the hobby user) you should do some research on how to start and tune your engine and also how to check it before use. This is readily available on the internet or by contacting sales@rideontoys4kids.com.
13.6. We will offer advice and help as much as possible but are unable to accept returns for items that have been damaged by incorrect use, from customers who are unable to adjust their models or from customers who have not correctly checked and set up their model or bike before use.

Warranty claims are not eligible for refund unless we decide the supply of replacement parts is not appropriate and a suitable used or new replacement is not available within a reasonable period.

15. Returns Policy
15.1. If you suspect a fault with your goods please email sales@rideontoys4kids.com for support as many problems can be resolved this way and we are happy to help.
15.2. If on receipt you find a fault with your item or it has been damaged in transit the first and quickest option to correct this fault will be to send you replacement parts for you to fit.
15.3. The return of the item will only be accepted either under Consumer Contracts Regulations within 14 days from receipt for unused items or at our discretion if we believe the supply of replacement parts is inappropriate. If you are asked to return the goods by us in writing (i.e. e-mail) we will (subject to availability) repair or replace the item and return it to you without further cost. You are responsible for the cost to return the item unless we agree to refund these costs in writing (i.e. e-mail). If we agree to refund your return postage cost this will be limited to the cost of the original delivery charge for the goods to be delivered to you (excluding any optional supplementary delivery charges such as, but not limited to, Saturday delivery or Timed delivery), where the goods were delivered free of charge this will be a reasonable amount for the size and weight of the item up to a maximum of £10. Please keep a copy of the receipt as we will need this to process the refund of the return postage costs. Unless you have been asked by us in writing (i.e. e-mail) to return the goods the return postage costs are not refundable.
15.4. Returns are only accepted with appropriate Returns Documentation which can be obtained by e-mailing us at sales@rideontoys4kids.com. The Returns Form must be completed in full and either attached to the outside of your parcel or the RMA number clearly marked on the outside of the packaging. 15.6. Returned items must be complete and correctly packed in their original undamaged retail packing using any retaining straps or other securing devices originally supplied. We do not accept responsibility for damage to poorly or incorrectly repacked items.
15.7. Before returning items please contact us to discuss the problem as we may be able to offer advice that makes a return unnecessary. For returned items that are found not to be faulty. For example a motor that you were unable to start but we can, we reserve the right to charge a £30 (£40 for Mini Moto’s and Quads) testing fee which is payable before the item is returned and in these cases the postage costs are not refundable.
15.8. We reserve the right to dispose of unclaimed returned items 14 days after notifying the customer of the cost of the repair or return charge.
15.9. In the case of returning spare parts that have been ordered in error, a 20% restocking fee will apply. Spare parts will only be accepted for refund provided they are complete, unused and in their original undamaged retail packaging. Please therefore take care when opening spares in case you need to return them.
15.10. We cannot be responsible for goods that fail to reach us. It is your duty to keep the return costs reasonable, please contact us for advice on the most suitable carrier.
15.11. Once the returned item has been inspected and is found to be eligible for refund (this can take up to 30 working days at busy times) our aim to get your money refunded back to you as quickly as possible.
15.12. An extended warranty period may be accepted at certain times of the year (such as models purchased as Christmas presents) or in exceptional circumstances however this is at our discretion and only if pre-agreed between us in writing.
15.13. For the purposes of determining when an item has been used this is determined as being from the point fuel was put into the item for Nitro and Petrol powered goods and from the point the battery was charged for Electric Items.
16. Lithium batteries (LiPo, Li-Poly, Li-ion)
16.1. Fire can be caused by: ‘Overcharging’ (wrong charger or charger setting, unbalanced battery load, charger fouled by poor power supply), charging a damaged cell or pack and short circuit (including crash damage).
Cells or packs can be damaged by: Over discharging (running too flat and/or too hot, discharging an unbalanced battery load), short circuit and crash damage.
16.2. Charging guidelines: Always charge on a surface that can not catch fire easily, concrete, steel etc. Do not charge on carpet, paper or any other items that can catch fire easily!
16.3. Never over discharge your battery. What does this mean? It means when you notice a power drop (when using your helicopter or car), stop! Immediately! It also means disconnect your battery from the helicopter or car, even if you switch off the model or transmitter and you leave it connected it will still discharge really slowly. Really slowly for a day is a lot!
16.4. If you over discharge and then charge again you may experience puffing. This is where the cells swell. If this happens you can never use the battery again. If you charge a puffed battery then expect a fire!
16.5. Use the correct charger.
16.6. Do not overcharge your battery. Always set a timer and don’t leave your battery charging unattended. If you do not know the charging time of your battery give us a call or emails us before you attempt to charge.
16.7. Lipo batteries are expensive and can be dangerous so need to be treated with care, if you need any help with charging please contact us.
